  3. Step 3: Select a plan, or keep No Coverage.

  4. Step 4: For Elite, type the declared value of the goods. The fee is 1.5% of that value, counted up to $50,000, with a $150 minimum.

  5. Step 5: Check the protection line in the Payment Summary before you post.

What happens next

The protection fee is taken from your wallet when you post and isn't refunded. If something is lost or damaged, you can make a claim from the booking page. See Make a Protection claim.

Common problems and fixes

Is this insurance?

No. CouthActs Protection is a limited reimbursement program with exclusions. It pays only after other recovery, and never for bodily injury. Read the Protection Plan Terms.

My goods are worth more than $50,000.

Elite pays up to $50,000. The provider's cargo insurance applies first, and you can buy dedicated cargo insurance for the rest.

Why can't I pick No Coverage?

Some modes require Elite Protection: hazmat, oversized cargo, heavy haul, armored, medical, private jet and yacht charter.
