How you get paid, and the fees

Steps

  1. Step 1: When a customer accepts your bid, check the booking: the agreed amount is already held in escrow.

  2. Step 2: Do the job and confirm the handover with the customer's PIN.

  3. Step 3: Wait for the customer to confirm. The payment is then on hold for 24 hours.

  4. Step 4: Open your wallet when the hold ends: the payment is in your available balance.

What happens next

The escrow fee comes out of each released payment: 8% under $500, 6% up to $5,000, 4% up to $50,000, 2% up to $500,000, then 1%, capped at $10,000. Customers don't pay it. You can watch money on its way under Earnings on the way.

Common problems and fixes

The customer released the payment early.

That's allowed: the customer can release it before the hold ends. It arrives in your wallet straight away.

The payment is frozen.

A dispute was opened. It stays frozen until the CouthActs team decides.

The customer hasn't confirmed.

If you verified the handover with the PIN and the customer doesn't respond within 72 hours, CouthActs may review the booking and release the payment.
